1. Acceptance

By using Fanny About ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What Fanny About Is

Fanny About is an AI-powered golf caddy that uses voice interaction to log your shots, track patterns, and provide conversational advice during rounds. It is a recreational aid, not a professional coaching service.

3. What Fanny About Is Not

Not a substitute for professional instruction. Fanny's suggestions are based on your self-reported data and AI pattern recognition. Always defer to your coach or teaching professional for swing advice.
Not a rangefinder. GPS distances are approximate (3-10m accuracy depending on conditions and your device). Do not rely on Fanny for precise yardages — use a dedicated rangefinder for that.
Not an official scorekeeper. Shot counts and round data are for personal tracking only. Do not use Fanny About as your official score in competitions.

4. Your Responsibilities

Safety first. Always be aware of your surroundings on the golf course. Do not let the app distract you from safety — watch for other players, flying balls, and course hazards.
Course etiquette. Use headphones. Do not use the app's speaker in a way that disturbs other players. In competition mode, ensure your use complies with your club's local rules and Rule 4.3.
Accurate information. The quality of Fanny's advice depends on the accuracy of what you tell it. We're not responsible for advice based on inaccurate input.
Your device. You're responsible for your phone's battery, data connection, and keeping it safe on the course.

5. Competition Use

Under the Rules of Golf (Rule 4.3a(4)), the use of distance-measuring devices may be permitted by local rule. It is your responsibility to check whether electronic devices are permitted in your specific competition. Fanny About's Competition Mode restricts the app to basic distance information and shot logging only, but compliance with local rules remains your responsibility.

6. AI-Generated Content

Fanny's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. While we aim for accuracy and helpfulness:

AI responses may occasionally be incorrect, inappropriate, or unhelpful
Pattern analysis is based on limited self-reported data and should be treated as suggestions, not facts
Post-round summaries are AI-generated narratives, not professional coaching assessments

7. Intellectual Property

Your data is yours. You retain ownership of all shot data, round history, and personal information you provide. You can export or delete it at any time.

The Fanny About name, brand, interface, and software are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the app.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Fanny About running reliably, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any data loss during outages.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Fanny About is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
We are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss arising from your use of the app on the golf course
We are not liable for decisions you make based on the app's advice or data
Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid for the Service in the 12 months before any claim

10. Account Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you misuse the Service or violate these terms. On termination, you can request export of your data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
